neon neoprene awesomeness.
body glove neon wetsuit jacket found at a local thrift store for $3.50. yes, you read that right. three freakin dollars and fifty cents.
one problem, i couldn’t fit my (apparently very fat) hands through
otherwise the jacket was perfect. cropped, tight, and neon neoprene. what more could a girl ask for? i just needed to get my hands through!
so out came the scissors and just a few snips, and phew, my surfer dreams are now a reality.

being that it was 80 degrees today, i almost cut the sleeves completely off to make a wetsuit vest for coachella, but i’m going to hold off for now. those elbow guards and i are dating.

the melrose trading post. aka fairfax flea market. aka coachella wardrobe gold mine.
not sure what look to go for (pocahontas goes to burning man, hipster, rocker groupie chic, neon indian, etc) and not sure what to get for coachella? good news, just look at the gals wandering around the trading post and i guarantee you’ll find new coachella fashion inspiration.
then you just shop. and bargain. and shop. and maybe grab a few things for your home. and bargain. and shop some more. and then you go and drink and celebrate how much money you did not spend.
seriously. spend some time here on a sunday and you can knock out 90% of your coachella wardrobe. for about 90% less than what you’d pay for retail “vintage” (ugh don’t get me started…)

Z is one talented (and super nice!) girl, i scooped up one of these tanks a few summers ago and get more complements than i can count. i snagged a new one of these neon tanks. check her site and etsy shop!
